Introduction

This lesson focuses on using inventories to help plan control actions. Through a simulation that involves physical activity, students will create a weed infestation on the playground. Next, they will work in cooperative groups to devise an inventory method to control the infestation, with the goal of eradicating the weeds. Each group will present its method to the class. The class will vote on the plan they think will be most effective given the time constraints, area to be covered, and work force available. Students will implement their plan and discuss its effectiveness. Before teaching this lesson, read the entire lesson and make sure all materials are available.
